DAY 149: Field Trip

Ethan had his last field trip of the year today. I got to go along
and I also took Kara and miss Kassidy along. I think everyone had a good
day! They got to see some really neat birds, a snake, lots of cows, and
went on a hayride. To top it all off, they even got to ride a horse!

DAY 148: Crabapple Tree in Bloom

We currently have all of two trees on our yard. At least they
look pretty when they are in bloom.

DAY 147: Sunday Soup

DAY 146: Boy!

Kassidy doesn't have a lot of words in her vocabulary yet. But
one of the ones we've heard most often is 'Boy!', which she
says everytime she sees Ethan. She really seems to like him, and
likes to follow him around. Ethan put up with her sitting on his lap
for a few minutes, before asking very nicely if she could
get off.

DAY 145: Free Rides

The kids are loving having Uncle James, Auntie Kara and little Kassidy
out for a visit. I don't think they let James have a moment to himself.

DAY 144: Sticking Together

They asked if they could go to the park, so I said as long as they
stayed together that would be ok. They took that 'stay together',
quite literally.

DAY 143: Reading Stories

This is how a found them the other night. I thought it was
really sweet. I love it that Madison likes to take the time to
read to her younger siblings.

DAY 142: New Duvet Covers

All the kids have needed new bedding for awhile now. I finally managed
to find something for the little girls. The white with thin stripes is the back
side, and the front has bright, colorful thick stripes. It's cute. Now what
we need is a twin sized bed for Nadiya, so we can get rid of her crib.
It's not much good having a twin sized cover on a crib sized bed.

DAY 141: A Day In The City

The kids and I spent the day in the city today. I had a few things
I needed to get that I couldn't get in our little town.  The kids
were wonderful all day, which always make my day much easier,
especially when I've got errands to do. We enjoyed
a McDonald's picnic in the van and later on in the afternoon we got
to spend some time with Auntie Chantelle.

DAY 141: Santa In May

Kaelynn's latest dentist prize.
(And another 11:30 pm jump-out-of bed type of picture.)

DAY 140: Getting Ready For Our Fence

Byron did this 40+ times on Saturday. Not a very exciting job, but it
had to be done. We are hoping to have a fence up soon. I'm kind of looking forward
to it. It'll be super easy to keep an eye on Nadiya when she's out if she's fenced in
the backyard instead of having the run of the neighborhood.

DAY 139: A Special Visit

Auntie Ashley came for a quick visit on friday night. The kids
enjoyed every minute of it, although I think they may have tired
Auntie Ashley out with all their running and jumping around.

DAY 138: Babysitting

I got to spend the day with this little sweetie today. I even got a kiss from her this afternoon. :)

DAY 137

DAY 136: Mother's Day Gift

Isn't it pretty? I got this beautiful plant from Madison for Mother's Day.
She was so excited to give it to me!

DAY 135: Mother's Day Tea Party

The kindergarten class had their annual Mother's Day Tea today. They
first did a play in which Ethan was a little troll. And I have to say he made a
very cute little troll. The kids did a really good job with the play. It was quite cute
to see. After the play, the moms and grandparents were served tea by the
kindergarteners, and just before it was time to go home they sang a few songs. I
think the kids had a lot of fun with it, and it's pretty special for them to have there
moms and grandparents at school just for them.

A few more pictures of the afternoon:

DAY 134: The Easiest Skirt

Madison's been needing a new sunday skirt for a long time, and I just
haven't been able to find something that we're both happy with. So
last week I decided to go through some old clothes of mine, and I found a dress
that I had from a few years ago. I pulled it out, decided that if I cut the top off right above the
waist line, and sewed on a wide elastic at the top of the skirt it would make
a nice long skirt. I'm quite sure this was the easiest skirt I have ever made!

How Tall Are You?

I've been wanting one of these for a couple of years. I just never got around to
it. A few months ago I finally got around to actually buying the piece of
wood that I needed for it, and this week I managed to finish our new
height ruler. The kids were quite excited to see how tall they all are. I
found some of the kids old medical papers and added their old heights in
as well, just so they could see how much they've grown.

DAY 133: Learning the Monkey Bars

We spent a while at the park today, and Madison spent a lot of that
time practicing on the monkey bars. The bars at the park are harder than
normal ones, because they get higher as you go along. Madison started off
only making it to the second one, but by the time we went home
she was quite proud to say that she could touch the 5th bar!

DAY 132: Not Enough Sleep

She was awake for hours last night. I don't usually put her for naps because then
she won't fall asleep at night, but sometimes she just ends up zonked out on the
ground somewhere. Like right in the middle of the living room where everyone
else had to step around her. I didn't have the heart to wake her up today. (And
I was probably enjoying the peace and quiet a little to much to wake her up anyways.)

DAY 131: Sidewalk Chalk

I always like to have sidewalk chalk around. The kids
never seem to get bored with it. The last of our chalk from last summer
was used up a week or so ago, so I bought a new bucket today.  The
girls were so excited to go outside and draw some new pictures. This
was all they managed to get done, before the had enough of all
the wind and headed back inside. I think the middle part there was
Kaelynn practicing her K's. You can kind of see it.

DAY 130: The Toothfairy Came!

Kaelynn has terrible teeth, just like my older two. I am so
hoping that Nadiya will be totally different and have amazing
teeth. I like to dream! Anyways, she had one pulled yesterday and
is going in to the hospital on friday to have more dental work done.
The toothfairy forgot to leave money last night but halfway through
the day when Kaelynn asked me if the tooth fairy took her tooth yet,
the toothfairy suddenly remembered. When Kaelynn
went down to look again later she came running upstairs to let me know
that the toothfairy actually came!

DAY 129:

Kaelynn had to get a tooth pulled at the dentist today. She was very brave
about it, and I was quite proud of her. She picked out a balloon rocket out of
the dentist's goodie box, and couldn't wait till Byron got home and they could try it out.
Of course Byron was more than willing to try it out, so he blew it up and
let it go. First in the house, but when that wasn't quite cool enough, they took
it outside. Well, it worked a little too well outside and it landed on our neighbour's
roof. It's a good thing Byron has a long ladder and could climb up and reach it.

Day 128

He's going to be a computer geek just like his dad. Byron got this old
gameboy thing in a box of electronics a few years ago. Ethan just loves playing
on it. We have to start putting a time on it, just so he's not playing it
every moment of the day. He even snuck it in his back to school the other day.

DAY 127: My Girls

Crazy girls of mine! They are each so different, but I love them all
so much! I could just squish them! :)

DAY 126

Byron spends some of his spare time fixing other people's
computers. I don't mind most of the time, but when it's
been sitting on my coffee table for a few days I am quite happy
when it's gone again.

DAY 125: First Fire Of The Year!

It's a terrible picture. I didn't have my camera with me so I used
Byron's phone quickly, but you get the idea. We went to
Richard and Ciny's on friday night for supper and sat around
the fire afterwards. I just love it that winter is over.

DAY 124

The kids forgot to clean up their bikes yesterday afternoon so
they had to go back out after supper and put them away. Nadiya
was already in her pajamas. Just thought I'd let you know
I don't usually let her walk around wearing non matching outfits
and especially not socks with flip-flops. Terrible style that girl has.

Just an extra picture so you can see her lovely outfit in all
it's beauty.

DAY 123: Best Snack Ever

A few scoops of vanilla ice cream, a spoonful of peanut butter and a small
handful of chocolate chips and you've got yourself a oh so yummy
ice cream treat. And you can even pretend it's healthy; you've got your dairy,
you've got your protein and they do say chocolate is good
for you. Maybe not milk chocolate chips exactly, but who's going to be picky
about that.

DAY 122: Two Little Brats Again

Who wouldn't put their life jackets on and play all afternoon while wearing them?
Sounds like fun to me!
