Baking Cookies with Dad

The lady whose house Byron is working on right now gave him a bucket of cookie dough and told him he had to make cookies with his kids. The kids of course were super excited about that idea and after asking Byron everyday for the last few days he had the time to do it last night after he got home.
The kids had a blast and I think even Byron enjoyed it.
(We put Nadiya to bed early so she missed out.)

Introducing: Maddy & Co.

So I just thought I'd share some exciting news!
This is something that has been in the planning for a few months now. My sister, Leanne and I have decided to open up an etsy shop. We've named it Maddy & Co. (as I'm sure you could have guessed from the title of this post). We will be selling jewelry and accessories. Come and take a look! The first items just went up for sale today!

Here's the link:

And a sneak peek just so I can add a picture.

I'm slightly embarrassed that it's been 4 months since my last post. I hadn't realized that it was that long ago already. Summer has flown by and we are seeing way too many signs of fall. Not that I mind fall, it's what comes after that I am really not looking forward too. :(

Anyways, my dear mother and sister have been nicely hinting that I have been seriously behind in putting pictures up so this is just going to be a post of pictures. It's not like I've been actually getting any sewing or crafting done these last few months anyways. Hopefully now that the kids are back in school I'll find some time for that again.

We spent the beginning of summer in BC, where we enjoyed some very nice weather!

Madison had a kitten for a few weeks, but had to give it away because Kaelynn is allergic. The third picture is of her on the drive to her cousins to bring it away. Poor girl.
Pic #4: Ethan, Caden, and Alexa tried out the bus during the summer.
#5: There you go mom, A picture of one finished chair. No more complaining. :)
#6.: At swimming lessons, Ethan attempting to jump off the diving board
#7: Ethan hurt his cheek this summer and now has a dimple. It's a lot bigger when he smiles.
#8: Madison finally was able to get rid of her training wheels. She is super excited about that.
#9: Kaelynn being her usual fruity self and posing for the camera.

And that's all for now. Hopefully I can be a little more consistent with how and when I post so I don't end up with any more 4 month long gaps! :)

Fun in the sun!

This little purse was made for my niece Alexa for her birthday. My sister-in-law had said her church purse was looking a little worn so I thought it would be fun to make her a new one. I think it's pretty cute, and Alexa seemed quite excited when I gave it to her so hopefully she gets a lot of use out of it.
I made two removable flowers to go with it. That way she can pick whatever one matches best with her sunday outfit.

Our neighbour lady was really nice and gave us their old wagon since her kids are kind of past the age to use it now. I've been wanting a wagon for a while so I was pretty excited.
So were the kids. I think they've played with it everyday since!

And we've had so much beautiful weather lately the kids have spent a lot of time outside.
They got rid of their winter whitness in no time.

Happy Mother's Day!

Aren't they pretty?

Hope you had a wonderful day!

'Love'

Madison is constantly writing little notes similar to this one.
'I love God and evry body els and God loves
every chrishten in the hole wide world.'
I think it's kind of cute!

The kids love drawing pictures with chalk.

Kaelynn's unusual fashion choice.

Lap Quilt

I've never made a quilt that was bigger than a baby size one till just recently. I made a lap quilt for my sister-in-law. I was pretty happy with the way it turned out, and hopefully she will get lots of use out of it before it falls apart. :)
And some pictures of my girls, just for you, mom!

Maybe I'm not feeding her enough...

And another month is gone! Which means spring is getting just a little
bit closer! I even saw some of the snow melting off our deck today. :)
Not too much going on around here in this last month. I've hardly even taken any pictures of the kids which is
really not normal for me. I usually have my camera out so much even my 17 month old says cheese whenever she sees it.

Byron sold his truck and bought a van. He never had enough room for all his tools in the truck so some were in the box and they were starting to rust. He's pretty excited to have tons of room in the van for all of them, and it's also a lot cheaper than his truck. I have to admit though, I much prefer his truck over this van. :)

And I finally finished this baby quilt that I started last year some time.
Feels good to have that off my to do pile!

Chopped

So this is old news now, but in January I chopped Madison's hair off.  Madison is an absolute perfectionist about her hair, and if it's even slightly loose feeling or slightly lumpy she takes it out. By the end of the day it was starting to look pretty stringy. So I decided if she was going to do that she might as well have short hair. I actually think it suits her when it's short so I don't mind.

I made this outfit for her out of two ladies shirts I got from our local thrift store.

Heaps of snow

Other than Nadiya being sick for a large chunk of the time, we had a really enjoyable trip to BC. It would have been nice to have had a bit more time for visiting some friends but I was stuck at my parents house with a cranky child. Thankfully she's the only one who seemed to get it.

While we were there we celebrated Kaelynn's 3rd birthday. She was super excited to finally have her turn for a birthday.

Sunset from mom and dad's back deck.

Mom and Dad still holding hands after 30+ years. :)

Watching TV in the hotel in Valemont.

And since we've got home we've pretty much got nothing but more snow. I have never seen so much snow in my life. Endless.

I've had the chance to sit down at my sewing machine in the last bit. I had some fat quarters of some polka dotted flannel that I made into a little doll quilt for Nadiya. She seems to have taken it over for herself to snuggle with though. It's not like she doesn't have enough blankets already. :)
