Madison the Fashionista

Madison is forever wanting to craft, color, sew etc.
She is happiest when she's in her creative zone. :)
She wanted to sew something so I had given her some
old t-shirts that were no longer wearable, and this is what she
came up with. I was very impressed with it.
It's even got some sparkles for some added bling. ;)

Poor girl!

Our dear Kaelynn has had a rather rough holiday in BC this time around.
It started off with a rather disastrous bike ride down a gravel sloped driveway and
ended with a crash, lots of blood and a black eye. Today we had water balloon
fight and she was taking a break on a small bench when she was attacked by wasps.
Apparently there was a wasp nest right underneath where she was sitting. She ended
up with 5 wasp stings on her legs and hands. Pretty traumatic and I think I can
expect to hear lots of screaming from now on whenever she says any type of
bee/wasp/hornet. She's looking a little beat up, but I think since Byron showed
up unexpectedly yesterday she's happy as can be anyways. :)

K & N

I convinced these two to go in front of my camera for a minutes, so
they dolled themselves up, hair and everything. I was looking forward
to start shooting, however it didn't last for long.
When their next-door cousin came knocking on the door asking them to
come play with her, guess who was the more exciting option. Not me.

Blessings

There are times that I've wished the day would fly by. And then there
are times like today when I wish I could pause my children right where
they are, right at this moment. It feels like such a short time ago
that I held our oldest for the first time, and now in just a blink of an eye later
my youngest is beginning to write her letters. How did this happen so fast?
I pray that on those days I am wishing for bedtime to come soon, I will
take a step back and be thankful for the beautiful gifts God has given me.
I pray that I will take the time to laugh with them, to play with them, to make memories
with them. And when they spill their milk, smear the toothpaste
all over the bathroom and in general wreak havoc all over my house I
need to remember to look at the bigger picture and not live in just those moments.
Children are a blessing from God, and while it may not ever be possible for me to treasure
every single waking moment, watching them grow is a beautiful thing.

Wacky Hair Day

I totally forgot about wacky hair day till the day of. Ooops! Thankfully
there is such a thing as google and I found some different ways of coloring
the kids hair without the usual color hair spray from the dollar store that I've
always used before. And now I will never go back to buying it again.
One way I found was to mix mousse and food coloring together, which I did. I
used that in Ethan's hair, and it did work quite well, but I also saw one that
used chalk pastel. I just dipped the chalk in a cup of water and colored Madison's
hair. The color from the chalk turned out much deeper than the food coloring & mousse
so I did end up going back over Ethan's hair with that. And the best part of it all
is that it all came out really easy in their showers that night. I was a little worried
about the food coloring in Ethan's hair, but there was nothing left. :)
