Almost the end of the year...

In a couple of days we are heading to BC to visit my family. So excited!
At the beginning of December we did Sinterklaas with the kids. They loved it!

The kids got something called Model Magic which they spent hours and hours playing with at the kitchen table.  I think that was one of the most used presents we have ever given our kids. Madison got quite creative with it.

We had a big dump of snow last week, and the kids have been having a lot of fun outside. The deep snow makes it a little hard for them to walk through, so for the most part they stick with the big piles of snow on either side of the driveway. Keeps them happy and makes it really easy for me to keep an eye on them!

Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas as we remember the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

Some randomness

Kaelynn has a favorite pair of pajamas. She calls them her spider pjs and every time they are cleaned those are the pjs she picks.Sadly for her, I think it's time they were retired.

What do you think? Time to throw them out?

-----------------------------------------------

Kaelynn's sneaky attempt at making herself a sandwich. I thought it
was too quiet upstairs, and I should have checked sooner. Sigh...
It was a big chocolatey mess all over her and my counter.

Byron calls Nadiya 'half-moon eyes'. I have no idea why.

Madison is writing!

I know. Crazy that I'm doing two posts in two days but
I just had to share this.
Madison wrote on Sunday afternoon, and I just thought it was the cutest
thing ever!
Translation:
You are so beautiful so I love you
because I love you and you are
You love me too because we are a
family. That is why I love you.
For my mom and dad.

I love it! It's so neat when they start reading and writing!

And here are some pictures from yesterday.

Happy Birthday Nadiya!
My baby is 1 today! Time has flown by so fast since this day last year.

And look how big she is now! :(
I am having a combined party for her and Ethan this afternoon.
Ethan is pretty super excited. But I think that's mostly because he thinks he's going to be getting
more presents. (Heehee, little does he know!)

Ignore the cake. It was free, I was lazy.
I don't think Ethan minded, so I don't care.

A few weeks ago, we had to take Ethan into the emergency. He was running, and tripped a fell and
hit his mouth on a corner of a drawer on Madison's bed.
He ended up getting 5 stitches on the outside of his lip and one on the inside.
The doctor also noticed at the hospital that one of his top teeth got pushed back, so I
had to take him to the dentist. Right now they aren't going to do anything about his tooth,
I'm just hoping it won't cause any problems later on.

He had to drink out of a straw for a few days, but everything is almost back to normal now,
except for his tooth, which he complains about once in a while. The dentist said it would probably hurt for awhile though. I'm just amazed at how fast it heals though.

This picture was taken less than 2 weeks after it happened. So much better!

So I actually have managed to make something in the past couple of months.
A fall wreath! I don't have a picture of it actually on our front door, so this will have to do.
Sadly, I think that's about the only thing I've been able to get done. One day I will get back into it. :(

We have grass!

I might be overly excited about this, but I'm just so happy not to have a big mud hole for a yard anymore.
And it's just so nice and green!
Since it's September though, we won't be able to do any more landscaping this year.
Fall is going to be here very soon. :(
We also finally have house numbers up! It's only been over 8 months, so not too bad. ;)

Madison also started her first day of Gr.1 this past week. So far she seems to really like it, although she has complained a few times about having to go every day.

Dear Kaelynn

To my dearest Kaelynn,

Just thought I should let you know,
Mommy's computer is not an arts and craft project.
Next time please use the paper I got out for you!
Thank you sweetie.

Love Mom

That's a small glue stick smeared all over it.
Maybe she thought it looked better this way??
