This past week was the kids spring break. I had been looking forward
to it, but unfortunately this little lady was grumpy all week. She spent
a lot of time in her bedroom due to her crying about everything! I am at
my wits end on how to deal with her. Anyone have any great ideas on how
to get a 7 year old to stop crying so much, because I could sure use some ideas.
Does she cry on school days too? Or just on Spring Break.
ReplyDeleteI've had problems with my oldest especially on school breaks. He gets bored quickly, annoyed at his sisters and just generally not nice to be around. Now I come up with list of things to do during breaks. Crafts, sewing, sleepovers with cousins, etc. so he isn't so bored.
This year though, it wasn't my oldest but the next one that was a problem. Not crying so much as snarlyness (is that a word?) She just wasn't nice to everyone else. I sometimes wonder if they have a tough time adjusting to new things and situations. They are used to being told what to do next all day at school and then when they are home it's not as structured and they (even subconsciously) don't know what to do with all that freedom. My kids like it when I lay out the days plans for them at the breakfast table. Then they know what they are up for....
Mothering... it's not always easy is it? :-)
