DAY 271: Kaelynn's First Field Trip

I went along with the kindergarten class today on their fall field trip.

The weather couldn't have been more beautiful! We had a picnic

before heading across the river on the ferry. When we reached the other side, 

we  had a nice walk to Dofka flats. The kids threw rocks into the river,  had

a scavenger hunt, looked into a couple old cabins and then they all

had a smore, before we made our way back to the school. 

DAY 270: Radar Robot

Ethan got a set of three robots that he has to build. Byron 

helped him build the first one, and Ethan thinks its the coolest

thing ever. This ones moves around objects, another one uses

any remote control to drive it, and the last one is 

a light-sensitive robot. We'll see how well those ones work.

DAY 269: Happy 6th Birthday Ethan!

 

He's 6! Time flies by! I think he had a pretty good day.

He picked hotdogs for supper, and after school we went to IGA

and he picked out his cake. After supper he opened his presents, and he

was super excited to see lego transformers, more lego, and some kind of

robot building kit. He's definitely a son of his father and is really into

anything technological, electrical and computerish. Kind of funny to see. :)

DAY 268: Our New House :)

We've been eying this house for awhile. We put an offer in a few months

ago, but the sellers weren't too interested in lowering there asking price. 

So we (im)patiently waited awhile, and a couple days ago, we put

another offer in, and this time we were able to come to a compromise

that we were quite happy with! So that means that now our current house

must be sold, and when it does we will be moving! Again.

DAY 267: Sick Day

 

She seemed to be getting better, but then when she woke up this morning

her fever was back. So Ethan went off to school by himself, and 

Madison has spent most of the day laying/sleeping on the couch. We'll

try again tomorrow!

DAY 266: Shoes

DAY 265: Laundry Room

We started installing our laundry room cabinets and countertop.

Hopefully we'll be able to finish it in the next few days. So excited

about this room! :)

DAY 264

I finally hung up my jewelry holder/hanger. Now I can actually have

my earrings organized nicely, instead of having them randomly dropped

all over the place. I just need to put hooks on the bottom sometime, so 

I can hang my necklaces on it.

DAY 263:

She was having lots of fun riding around the kitchen and living room

on the semi-truck. She's not a very good driver though; she 

crashed a few times!

DAY 262: Not Doing So Good! :(

DAY 261: Nadiya's Sunflower

Hugging the sunflower she claimed as hers. 

It popped up randomly in my garden

late in the summer, and she very patiently went in the backyard

everyday to check if it was ready yet.

I tend to not drink enough, so I bought myself a water jug. Hopefully

it will help my increase my liquid intake! So far it seems to be helping

a bit. At least this way I can kind of keep track of how much I'm getting.

 These little turquoise dangles have very quickly become

one of my go-to earrings. Absolutely love them! :)

DAY 256: Tough Girl

Miss K had her kindergarten shots on a school morning. She was

pretty upset that she was missing school, but I had told her I 

could bring her to school when she was done. Driving home after the shots

she was sniffling a little and when asked if maybe she'd like

to stay home instead, the sniffling instantly stopped and

she said in her tough girl voice, "No, I'm okay mommy!"

DAY 255: My Helpful Husband

This is Byron's way of helping my chop the carrots, to get them

ready for the freezer. Not necessarily the way I would have done

it, but he got them done, so I was happy! I guess, it's probably

not the worst way to work; sitting on the couch, tv on, 

and a glass of wine beside you. :)

DAY 248: Picking Corn

The girls helping me pick the last of the corn. 

And when I say the last of the corn, I really mean the last of the corn. 

They picked every last ear, no matter how small. :)

DAY 247: First Day Back

 All three were so excited to be going to school! It made it so much easier

for me to say goodbye. And Nadiya was quite upset that

she can't go. Hopefully she'll get used to it pretty quick.

Our table that I'm almost done refinishing. Such a big project, especially

for someone who gets distracted easily. I started about a year ago, but had

to redo a few things which resulted in me putting it off for awhile. I'm not

a big fan of redoing things. :) Except for a few touch ups on the

chairs it's finished. Yay!

Snuggling under a nice warm blanket together. The warm

summer weather is disappearing quickly. :(

The kids were playing school and Madison, the teacher, showed

them how to make these. The orange thing sticking up is a tree, and 

the green is grass, and the blue is a lake with fish in it.

DAY 239: Dreaming

I picked up the new Sears wish book the other day, and the kids

spent some time going through it and picking out all the 

wonderful things they'd like to have.

One of my favorite things to eat.

 Ever.

 Especially when it's straight from my own garden.
