DAY 208: Fort Edmonton
My parents were out, so we decided to go to Fort Edmonton with
all the family who lives out here. It was
incredibly hot and Madison got her first wasp sting (poor girl! It looked
quite painful!), but the kids had a lot fun!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the train...
Kaelynn always has such an expressive face. :)
She was so excited about being on the train!
DAY 204: Neighborhood Flooding
After a crazy thunderstorm, and a few inches of rain, Barrhead's
drain system couldn't keep up, and our neighborhood was flooded.
Thankfully our house is on higher ground, and stayed dry, but there
were a few houses that had a few inches of water in there basements.
DAY 202: In Bloom
We moved Madison's petunia plant away from the sun, and
two days later it bloomed for the first time. Madison's been waiting
a long time for this, so she was super excited about it.

DAY 200: A Little Flower
Nadiya was using her wonderful imagination and playing pretend.
Somehow wrapping herself up in a blanket made her a flower. And
a few minutes later, wrapped in the same blanket she became
a butterfly.
DAY 199:
Madison was having a melt down sort of day and had been sent to
her room until she was feeling a little happier. I was downstairs
helping the little girls clean their room, when I heard some clinking
of dishes and water running upstairs. I went up a few minutes later
to see what was going on, and found my dear sweet Madison
washing the lunch dishes by hand. It melted my heart when she
turned to me and said 'I'm sorry for being bad Mommy."
Kids are more than exhausting at times, but moments like this show me
how amazingly worthwhile it is.
DAY 198: Dinner Outside
The kids enjoyed eating supper on the deck. This was the first time
this year that we've done it. It's usually way to hot out there to eat since the
sun is shining on the back of the house all day until it goes down.

DAY 197: Mr. Frog
The kids found this little frog in the grass and wanted to take care of it.
They got a bucket, put a little bit of puddle water and a small rock in it,
and that became this little frogs new home. Byron had warned them
that if they held it too much, it could die, but unfortunately his
warnings didn't help enough. The frog was discovered dead in his bucket
later this afternoon.
DAY 196
Madison's petunia has started growing. It's looking
a little odd though. And she's quite sad that it doesn't
want to flower. Any tips? I know nothing about growing flowers.
DAY 195: Creepy Toes
Byron needed new running shoes, so we stopped at SportChek
to look at shoes. It was going just fine, and then the salesman
suggested he try these on. And he really liked them, so
he bought them, and now they are in my house. And I think
they are really just too weird. Who wears shoes like that?!
DAY 193: Mini Vacation
We went on a mini vacation from Thursday night to Saturday evening.
Byron spent some time filling out the last bit of his application on Thursday
night, and had his ear and eye tests done on Friday. His application to the
Edmonton police was officially handed in on Friday just after lunch. Now
we wait and see what happens. :S
DAY 192: Close To Home
Byron is working quite close to home this summer. I took
this picture out my bedroom window just so you can all
see how close! I am loving it!

DAY 190
Enjoying the sun.
---------------------------------------------
Like the towel that Nadiya came out with to tan on?? Not sure she quite
fits on there!
Splashing around in the new pool I bought this morning.
DAY 185: Dead Battery
I did try to take a picture with my camera but didn't get a whole
lot. Dumb dead battery. So it was back to the old
camera phone again. And my night table.
