DAY 89: Nap Time Again

You'd think I'd learn not to let Nadiya have naps, but I never do.

Everytime she has a nap, even if it's like 10-15 minutes, she is

impossible to get to sleep at night. It really is too bad, because

some days she could really really use a nap.

DAY 85: The Lion King

We were visiting at family's on Sunday and Nadiya found this lion outfit. She was running 

around the house saying she was the lion king. She's pretending her hands are

claws on this picture.

DAY 84: Winter

It's not quite done yet, but it's getting there. It's a step up from having the 

washer and dryer in the playroom anyways. We are just waiting for

some cabinets and then I'll have my perfect laundry room.

DAY 82: Winter Is Still Here

The deck WAS free of snow and the kids were really enjoying it, but

it's snowing again. It'll be gone in a few days but we were a little

to used to the spring like weather I think. I was really hoping not

to have any more snow this winter. I guess I was too optimistic!

DAY 80: New Pantry

I'm still desperately missing my camera. Hopefully soon I'll be able to use it again.

In the last few months we've been doing some renos in our house. We moved the laundry 

downstairs and turned the old laundry room into my new pantry. It's not

done yet, but it is usable much to my excitement! I will never say

no to more storage.

DAY 79: Bananas

So, I know I've skipped a few days. But I did take pictures on those days.

Unfortunately those pictures are one my memory card which

is in my camera which is at my sister-in-laws house. So as soon

as I get my camera back I will post those and catch up. Also, since

I don't have my camera I had to take a picture with Byron's tablet.

And so I took this very exciting picture!

DAY 74: Sleepy Nadiya Again

One second she was looking for her cup, the next she was zonked out

on the ground fast asleep.

Madison's New Idea

Madison came up with this idea the other day at supper. 

I'll shorten the story for you. Basically what we are going to do is

as long as these jars are empty they get to have a little bit of time on the

computer, go swimming. You know, the fun things! If they are bad then they 

have to put a rock in their jar. Then if they are really good they can take one out.

So far I have to say they have been super good. The threat of having to put 

a rock in their jars really works. They've each only had to do it once yet.

I'm hoping it will stay that way for a long time. :)

DAY 73: Madison's Story

Madison had to take her writing book home yesterday and finish the story she was
working on at home. I took a minute and looked through it. 

I thought some of it was so cute. Here's her Flat Stanley story.
(Her Flat Stanley was sent to Grandma & Grandpa S in BC last fall)

Here's what it says:

"My Flat Stanley went to B.C. My Flat Stanley went in my Grandpa's pocket

and sat on the bench in church. My Flat Stanley learned that B.C. is big. My Flat

Stanley learned about God. My Flat Stanley visited my Grandpa, Grandma and uncle Andrew."

DAY 70: All Tied Up

Madison had some yarn out while she was doing some finger knitting. She left it

out while she went swimming with Byron, Ethan and Kaelynn on Saturday and of 

course this little monkey just couldn't keep her fingers off. It was wrapped around her

waist about 30 times. She did try to unwrap herself but it didn't work out to well. I 

ended up having to cut it off. 

DAY 69: It Feels Like Spring!

Working hard trying to get the couple inches of ice we've had on our 

driveway the last while. It was absolutely beautiful outside today. I was

out in my t-shirt shoveling. So much water as melting we actually had a stream 

of water running down the street for a while. (Till Byron cleared up the ice enough for

it to run farther down the road.)

Sewing Again

So this is the first post of the year other than my Photo of the Day posts. Not

too impressive. As Byron just said, "It's March..." It's also the first time

I've sat behind a sewing machine in months. Madison had Pioneer Day

at school today, and she asked me to make her a bonnet and apron. We found an

old dress that my mom had sewn for me when I was young and we put together a cute little

pioneer outfit for her. 

Kaelynn of course had to join in, so she found a dress, a nice bright Home Depot

apron and an old hat from when I was very young. And for some reason she had to 

wear Madison's old boots too.

DAY 68: Nadiya. Again.

I feel like I put a lot of pictures of Nadiya on here. I should make sure I get
some of my other three children a little more often.

DAY 67

When her hair is all up like this it just makes her look so grown up. :(

DAY 66: Crazies

The last 2 days after school the kids were dressing up. I'm

not sure what they were trying to dress up as, but they were having

a lot of fun!

DAY 65: Ready For School

She's got her backpack and her boots and she's off to school. I'm just

glad school is just down the stairs and not out the door.

DAY 63: Peel The Chicken

 

 Nadiya somehow must have gotten boiled eggs and chicken legs mixed up.

We got KFC for the kids on Saturday night and as soon as Nadiya got her chicken

leg she started taking the skin off. I asked her what she was doing and she answered

"peeling it" When she was done she had eaten all the meat and was going to throw the skin

in the garbage. She got pretty excited when we told her she could eat it. 

DAY 62: Whoops!

This is the best I can do for yesterday. :( I totally forgot to get a picture

for my one a day. But at least I took pictures of our jewelry! :P

DAY 61: Teddy Bear

The kindergarten class had their teddy bear picnic yesterday at school. 

Ethan had a lot of fun, and was pretty excited about the bear face he got. He

asked if he could keep it on till Sunday. At least he's smart enough to know he 

would not be allowed to go to church like that.

DAY 60: I'm the Mommy!

One of her recent favorite phrases is "I'm the mommy!" 

I guess she feels even more like a mommy when she wears

really big earrings? She seems to be wearing mine

more often lately.
